The Clock of the Years is an anthology compiled to celebrate twenty-five years of the Finzi Friends Newsletter.

Long out-of-print writings have been freshly edited and revised, with many new pieces appearing in print fo the first time.

Fascinating archive material from private collection has been gathered, including many previously unseen photographs.

The life and works of composer Gerald Finzi are not the solo focus of this anthology. His wife Joy Finzi’s centenary is justly commemorated through substantial extracts from her rare memorial tribute volume, with a selection of her poems.

The Clock of the Years additionally celebrates the wide-ranging creative legacy inspired by the Finzis, not only in music but also in poetry and the visual arts.
