Finzi Friends Musical and Social Event

The Committee has planned a new kind of event in October at Tardebigge,in the Church Hall of St Bartholomew’s Church. This will be a social event as much as anything, so think of it as a gathering of Friends with informal musical entertainment provided. The Event is also free of charge, open to all.

For the musical entertainment, an essential requirement is an audience. So we hope that there will be many Finzi Friends joining us and bringing their own friends and family, coming together to enjoy a varied programme of music.

And the performers? The Friends – ourselves. This is an opportunity for anyone to perform in our impromptu event, with voice or instrument. And if you have musical friends, encourage them to join the gathering. You may even wish to air your own composition and we would welcome that too.

We will aim for a 2pm start, with a break for tea and cakes. There will be plenty of time beforehand for rehearsals as needed. Our Chairman, Martin Bussey, is providing piano accompaniment and will be available for performers wishing to have a run-through from approximately 12 noon onwards. Whilst the piano is a digital one, it is state-of-the-art and comes highly recommended.

We look forward to hearing from as many of you as can come, and as soon as possible, so that we can make this event a success. Please tell us that you intend to be there as members of the audience – and, if you would like to perform a piece, or to have a piece of yours performed, let us know what you have in mind.
